CNC ROBOT INTEGRATION

Add robotic tending to the CNC machines you already run

You do not need to replace your equipment to automate it. Labot connects to your existing CNC fleet through standard or discrete I/O.

Labot connected to an existing CNC

Pain points we solve

Brand compatibility

Works across CNC brands, not just Fanuc.

No Ethernet required

Connects via discrete I/O when needed.

Retrofit, not replace

Automate machines you already own.

Commissioning risk

I/O behavior confirmed on-site per install.

HOW IT WORKS

How CNC robot integration works

01

Assess your CNC

We confirm signal type and communication protocol.

02

Connect the interface

Labot’s PLC interfaces via Ethernet/IP or discrete I/O.

03

Commission on-site

I/O behavior is verified for your specific machine.

04

Start production

Smart EZ takes over tending, no reprogramming needed.

Exact I/O behavior is confirmed and verified during on-site commissioning for each installation.

CUSTOMIZATION

CNC robot integration built around your equipment

Standardized automation. Customized where your process requires it.

Standardized entry point, minimal engineering overhead

Discrete I/O, Ethernet/IP, Profibus, or FL-net available as needed

Application-specific customization when the standard setup is not enough

Documented integrations across dozens of machine tool brands

Frequently asked questions

Is Labot limited to Fanuc-controlled CNC machines?

No. Labot can integrate with CNC machines from different manufacturers. The available communication method and exact signals are confirmed for each machine during the application review.

How does Labot interface with a CNC machine?

Labot can use Ethernet/IP or discrete I/O, with other industrial protocols available when the application requires them. The interface is verified during commissioning.

Can Labot connect to a CNC that uses NPN discrete signals?

Yes. Signal conversion and relay interfaces can be configured for machines using NPN discrete signals after the machine I/O is reviewed.

Can Labot’s PLC fully control functions like cycle start, chuck, and door open/close?

When the CNC exposes the required signals, Labot’s PLC can coordinate cycle start, chuck operation, and automatic door functions. Final behavior depends on the machine and is validated on-site.
